Kisha comes to us from Hickory, NC. As a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in the Bethlehem Community, Kisha has been involved as a Sunday School teacher since around the age of twelve. Teaching Sunday School was just the beginning, her excitement and enthusiasm were found in many other ministries such as coordinator and director of VBS, Children’s Christmas Play director, along with service on many Church Council Committees. In 2014 Kisha moved to Mount Airy after taking the position of Director of Christian Education at Central UMC. Over the years, 2014-2017 that position has shifted around and in November 2018 accepted the position of Director of Children’s Ministry. She is excited to be back here at Central to work with the staff and the members of Central United Methodist Church.
A 2013 graduate of Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC, Kisha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education and an Associate’s Degree in Interior Design from Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton, NC. From the age of seven, Kisha has been involved in Baton twirling as a competitor and a teacher. Along with this position Kisha also holds a few other jobs, she is one of the upstairs Preschool Teachers (4-year-old class) with Central Methodist Child Care, she has many responsibilities with a Baton organization founded in Charlotte, NC (certified Gold Seal Judge, instructor, website and Facebook manager), and a Plunder Design Stylist (a Jewelry line). In her spare time, she enjoys anything Biltmore and searching through antique malls for exciting finds.
