Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal leading up to Easter. In the United Methodist tradition, this is a sacred time to pause, remember our need for God’s grace, and refocus our hearts on Christ.
During the service, ashes are placed on the forehead in the shape of a cross as a reminder of our mortality and our belonging to Jesus Christ. The words often spoken, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” call us to humility, while the cross reminds us of the hope and redemption we have through Christ.
We invite everyone to join us for this meaningful service as we begin the Lenten journey together, seeking to grow deeper in faith, love, and discipleship.
